Spring 2024 Russelliana

The Bertrand Russell Society is pleased to announce the following upcoming free and online Spring 2024 Russelliana (register to get the Zoom link here):

  • 10 Feb. 1:00 PM EST (BRS and BRRC jointly)
    Stephen Heathorn, Associate Professor of History, McMaster University, will discuss “Improperganda”, his article from the latest issue of Russell about the early critical reception of Marriage and Morals, along with research for his related book project (in progress): Liberty, Equality and Paternity: the Writing, Reception and Legacy of Bertrand Russell’s Marriage and Morals.
  • 23 March 1:00 PM EST
    David Alexandre Ellwood, a theoretical physicist,  former research director of the Clay Mathematics Institute, and executive committee member of British Pugwash, will present on Russell’s The ABC of Atoms, a work long out of print but one for which Dr. Ellwood has recently written the introduction for a new Spokesman Books edition.

    Landon Elkind and Alexander Klein will discuss their forthcoming volume, Bertrand Russell, Feminism, and Women Philosophers in His Circle (Palgrave Macmillan, February 2024).
